P&C Association
Mrs Michelle Koripas P&C President
“Supporting our students to reach their full potential through actively engaging parents, school and community.”

A big welcome to our new and returning families. It is going to be an exciting and busy year for us all, given this is a particularly special year with our school celebrating its 100-year anniversary!
We have made some positive changes to our P&C Association to kick start the year. Firstly, we have restructured and introduced two new positions to support our parents and guardians, citizens and, ultimately, our fabulous students.
We welcome Barb Grondin, our Operations Manager, and Mrs Pam Ryley, our Administration Officer, to our P&C Association team. Both are highly experienced and haven't wasted any time getting acquainted with all that is our P&C at this incredible and dynamic school.
Secondly, we have moved office locations. You can now find us at R Block, located on the corner of Glenelg and Merivale Streets, just across from the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. You can stop by our P&C office to say “hello” and ask questions during our business hours, or simply leave a message. Contact details for the P&C Association are available via our website:
P&C Association volunteering opportunities
Uniform Shop – thank you!
Our Uniform Shop staff and the P&C Association Executive extend a very big “thank you” to our team of amazing parent and student volunteers who have helped welcome new families to the school during Term 4, 2020, and in the first three weeks of the 2021 school year. Through partnering with our Uniform Shop staff and Year 10 and Year 11 student volunteers, our Uniform Shop fitted 670 new students and distributed over 900 online orders and Year 12 jerseys. It was a resounding success! We look forward to joining forces again with our now experienced volunteers and hopefully some new parents and guardians in Term 4, 2021. Look out for centenary items, which will be available to purchase soon!
Payment at canteens and Uniform Shop
We would like to remind families that the P&C Association operates using a cashless system. Please pay by credit card or Student ID Card – thank you. During Term 1, Year 7 students and new students are able to pay using cash in the I Block canteen while they await their Student ID Card. This term, all other students can top up their Student ID Card at any of our canteens using cash.
Canteen volunteers
Commencing Week 4, Term 1
Canteen volunteering will be beginning very soon. Our volunteer registration page is still open if you would like to come and help at the school. There’s no minimum requirement – all help is greatly appreciated. It’s the perfect opportunity to see the school in action, contribute with your time and meet other parents and guardians in a friendly and meaningful way.
Our volunteer days in Term 1 will be Wednesdays and Fridays, from 10:45am to 12:45pm. In Term 2, we hope to add an extra day. Free parking is available at the school for our canteen volunteers. We look forward to hearing from you.
Centenary events planning
State High turns 100 in 2021 and we are planning on joining the celebrations. If you have experience in event planning, marketing, communications, graphic design or would just like to get involved with anything that you can, we need you. Please join our Events Committee – to enquire, please contact Ms Melissa Buirchell, Vice-President – Growth, via email – vp.growth@bshspandc.org.
