What a term it’s been!

In the last few weeks, the Vocal Ensemble Program has had many events including The Beenleigh Eisteddfod, the Gold Coast and State High Day. At Beenleigh Eisteddfod, Chorale and Vox Musica both came first with a Gold in all of their four of their sections. This was an incredible win for both choirs, with Chorale also being student conducted and accompanied by Ling Hui and Maxine Ayre. Our pianist Coco even got Best Student Accompaniment!

Gold Coast Eisteddfod led to even more success, with Vox Musica, Chorale and Ensemble Arcadia all placing within top 3 of the sections we entered and Theatre Choir giving a great performance. We are so fortunate that our choirs get to compete at Eisteddfods and perform at events such as State High Day, the biggest school fest yet! We’ve had such an incredible year, with our hard work paying off!

Thanks to all our wondering vocal students, our conductors, Naomi Thurlow, Malcolm Hume and Jane Iszlaub, MIC and vocal assistants who’ve been integral in helping the magic happen!

• Vox Muisca – First Place in Secondary Division (out of 8 choirs)
• Vox Muisca – First Place in Sacred Section  (out of 3 choirs)
• Chorale – First Place in Languages Section
• Chorale – First place in Student accompanied and Conducted Section
• Theatre Choir – A great performance and their first Beenleigh Eisteddfod!

Gold Coast Eisteddfod

• Vox Muisca – First Place and Gold Award in Vocal Ensemble Secondary Section
• Ensemble Arcadia – Third place and Gold Award in Vocal Ensemble Secondary Section
• Chorale – 2^nd place in B grade Secondary Section
• Theatre Choir – A great performance and their first Gold Coast Eisteddfod!
