State High runs a school-based Readers’ Cup competition each year for Years 7 and 8 students in Term 1. The winning team from this competition represents the School in the Brisbane North Regional final run by the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA). 

This was held at The Lakes College last Tuesday night, 17 June.

We are proud to announce that our team placed second out of 23 teams and only missed out on first place by half a point!  Well done Josie Newman (Year 7), Hannelore Monks (Year 8), Shivani Sundaram (Year 8) and Isabela Pintilie (Year 8).

You were dedicated and enthusiastic whilst preparing for the whole of Term 2 and we look forward to seeing what happens next year!
