The Junior Leader Team has achieved many successes this term, including the work towards the completion of our year long goal, commitment to a variety of events, and the organisation of school community building oriented activities.

Among the Junior Leader Team, we have attended several events, which include the National Reconciliation Week Sausage Sizzle and Book Swap on the 30 May, the Year 12 100 Days Bake Sale and set up on the 4 June, the Year 8 Dance on the 5 June, the Men’s Mental Health Week Breakfast, the Student Leadership Forum, and WoW Week Toy Drive and SRC Push Up Challenge.

The Year 12 100 Days Bake Sale was a great opportunity for the Junior Leader Team to bond over a fun and rewarding experience, baking together and actively selling sweet treats to the school community and preparing the sausage sizzle for the Year 12 celebration.

We thoroughly enjoyed supporting the Prefects in running the Year 8 Dance, dressing up for the pyjama party, taking photos with the backdrop we helped to build, dancing, singing and running activities with other Junior Leaders and the Year 8 students.

The Junior Leader Team collaborated with other leadership groups to organise and independently run activities for the Junior School, with insightful discussions surrounding WoW Week Lunchtime activities during our weekly Wednesday meetings.

We have successfully run these Junior School activities under I block at lunchtime, which have included musical chairs, karaoke, limbo challenges, cup pong, party games, and many other engaging and exciting activities for Junior participation.

We advertised and influenced the Year 8 future Junior Leader selection process and are in the process of organising a Junior slams! We are undergoing the planning and implementation of five longterm Team Goals and suggested collective feedback on the Brisbane State High School House System.

Overall, as the Junior Leadership Team we plan and engage in activities, delegate responsibilities, schedule activities for WoW Week and the Junior School and have familiarised ourself with the assembly layout. We have had an amazing term succeeding in many courses of action, ultimately, having great fun and connecting with each other among the Junior Leader team, making lasting friends and memories!
