A massive thank you to all our MiCs, staff, coaches, volunteers, alumni, and parents.

Your dedication and support make our programs possible, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do!

As we approach Term 3, students should keep an eye on StudentNet and Team App for updates on our extracurricular programs. We look forward to an exciting and competitive term ahead, featuring Rugby, Basketball, Chess and Track and Field.

Thank you once again to everyone who contributed to another incredible term of sport and activities at BSHS!

Football

What has felt like an eternity between the last ball being kicked and Round 1, Football came to an end as we faced Nudgee College. Producing some stellar performances, with notable mentions to our 7D’s, who were our Team Performance of the Round with an 11-0 thumping of their opponents, they displayed commendable gamesmanship and a war cry to match the scoreline.

In our first game of the season, we saw ourselves drawn against a very strong Nudgee College. Boasting players who represent Australia and Brisbane Roar this was always going to be a challenging game.

Making their Senior debut for State High; Jonah Goldsmith Hodson, George Koumpis, Dante Minos, Rhys Buchannan, Ruben Okafor, Hamish Crocker, Freddie Adams and Jordi Horrell. This speaks volumes at the performance considering the vast disruptions and new players this season.

Tennis

GPS Tennis returned on Saturday with hard fought fixtures against Nudgee College.

Our First 5 had a close loss against Nudgee College however we had a number of teams victorious with a special mention to our Year 7A’s who won 41-20, 7B’s won 38-26 and the 7C’s won 33-29.

Rugby

Our Opens Rugby program continues to ramp up their preseason with a trial against the winners of the Sydney GPS competition Shore Grammar School.
In three games against Shore our 16A and 1st XV won their games which is an amazing result so far out from the GPS Rugby season.
Rugby will take the field again in four weeks for a trial against Ipswich Grammar School and Brisbane Grammar School.
