Don’t we love physics? Certainly, BSHS students do!

Dedicated Physics students, Quin Marsh, Kye Marsh, Parham Rahmani and Hian Phang, have spent the last few months investigating various Physics Problems, ranging from the behaviour of springs, water bottle rockets, projectiles and leaking faucets! Their hard work and dedication culminated with their participation in the International Young Physicists’ Tournament Australia Challenge from 28 - 30 March, hosted by Brisbane Girls Grammar School.

During the competition they opposed highly talented students from six other schools across Australia and demonstrated their excellence in “debating” physics! After 3 rounds of intense debating their solutions to the various Physics problems, BSHS Blue (Parham Rahmani, Y10 and Hian Phang, Y10) achieved a High Distinction and BSHS Red BSHS Red (Quin Marsh, Y11 and Kye Marsh Y12) was awarded Bronze, narrowly missing out on making the final by just two points!

State High is currently looking for students interested to participate in the Junior Young Physicists’ Tournament (JYPT) 2025.

The spirit of seeking knowledge lives on!
